JD on foodgawker - Finally!

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!  After months of rejected submissions to a couple of the top food photography sites, I was pleasantly surprised this morning to discover that one, lone photo of mine was accepted on foodgawker.

Here's a description of foodgawker (from their "about" section):
"foodgawker is a curated photo gallery that allows the visual search and discovery of new recipes, techniques and ingredients to inspire culinary adventures. we publish photography submitted by food bloggers from around the world. our editors review submissions daily and choose the highest quality, most appealing images to showcase."
I'm tellin' ya ... it's very difficult to get a photo accepted.  I know lots of food bloggers who get so frustrated with denials over and over.

The photo that was accepted was for my Buffalo Chicken Wonton Cups.

And, here it is in all its glory on foodgawker's site:

It is quite an honor to have a photo showcased and accepted.  I just had to share my joy with you!  Today was a happy day!

Blessings!

  4. Congratulations! What a beautiful photo. I've also been working toward a "yes" at Foodgawker, and finally got one last week! It felt so good! Then I got another "no" today. haha.

    1. Hi, Lori. Thanks for stopping by! I, too, have had a couple of rejections since my one photo was accepted. But, I am thankful for the one, at least, for now. Gives us something to strive for, doesn't it? Thanks for commenting and sharing your blog link!

      Blessings!

    2. Thanks, Angela. Yes, it definitely gives us something to strive for! Although, I must say - I have noticed a lot more traffic come to my blog from Tastespotting than FoodGawker. Maybe they're not all they're cracked up to be? :)

    3. I have yet to get accepted on Tastespotting. :( I try not to fret too much over those sites, but sometimes we all take rejection a little personal, don't we?. And, I agree ... I didn't get as much traffic from FG like I expected. There has been a steady flow from it, but nothing as big as I had envisioned in my mind all of those months I was trying to get on there. HA! :)
